Who we are
Waka Academy International School of Windhoek is an agency of the not-for-profit, NGO Namibia Jobs Foundation located in Windhoek, Namibia.
We believe that children learn by doing. They should be actively engaged in discovering, exploring, and doing in order to maximize opportunities for learning and growth.
What we do
We promote Namibia to our students and remind them throughout our program that it is their job to develop Namibia, their homeland, and take it to the next level of excellence.
The WAKA experience is based on mutual respect and personal integrity. All members of the school are expected to honor the rights and dignity of others, to conduct themselves appropriately at all times in a moral and decent manner, to assume responsibility for their choices, and to see this responsibility as an integral part of their lives at WAKA.
Why choose us?
We are committed to developing a truly exceptional educational environment and outstanding faculty and staff to help your child learn and grow. Our staff are truly an example of the international mindedness we teach and promote here at WAKA.
As our curriculum is International and encompasses international values we truly value and share the depth and width of experience our teaching staff bring to the school and the understandings they help to awaken in our children.
Where we are:
We are located in the Capital city of Namibia, Windhoek. A Beautiful 3 story building, 20 plus Classrooms. Find us in 183 Jan Jonker Road, Ausspannplatz. Right Across Engen Fuel Station, and Next to Angolan Embassy.
How we started:
In 2018 a couple of Young Entrepreneurs came together with the Vision to prepare kids for the future. After months of research, they decided Every child needs to have a chance at a great education, but with a sustainable model. WAKA – World Academy of Knowledge and Arts, has set its eyes on nurturing, creative, responsible fierceful young ones that will make the world a better place for all.
The doors to the first 52 Children opened in 2019. All these preschool kids were aged 6 months to 5 years of age. So Waka Pre School & Daycare started. We grew the school to 82 Children by End of 2019.
In 2020 we got accredited as a private school to offer Grade 1-4. We opened with 120 Children and as we all know Covid-19 took the world by surprise. We weathered the storm for 2 years. We introduced Online teaching and training, clearer health and safety protocols during this time.
2022, saw us fully functional again and with approval we now offer Preschool and Daycare services from 2 to 5 years of age, and the Academy offers Grade 0 to 7.
Waka Academy operates as a Non Profit organization, as all its proceeds are invested back into the school. However has the sustainable mechanism that will allow for growth and always improving.
Mission:
Prepare graduates with the knowledge, values, and skills necessary to maximize their individual potential and be leaders in, and contributors to Namibia, Africa and the world.
Vision:
Build the best-value school for private international education and S.T.E.A.M Learning in Namibia. Provide a safe learning environment that is challenging and engaging. Help students prepare academically, socially, and morally for the challenges and responsibilities of global citizenship.

Message from the Board
At waka Academy, we believe that education should be a partnership between children, parents, and teachers. We want you and your child to feel welcome as part of our school community and know that together we can help your son or daughter to reach his or her full potential. we will do our best to provide a secure and purposeful atmosphere to learn in and we will value and respect all children, ensuring that they have a positive experience at our school.
To this effect, we have high expectations of children and will always keep you informed if we have any concerns; we believe that there should be close communication between school and home and appreciate being the first to know so that we can sort out any difficulties before they have time to develop.
If you are a parent new to this school, and you would like to have a look around, kindly contact us to book an appointment to visit with your child/ren; I look forward to meeting you!
